Pentax:
FA*85
DFA 100
Tamron:
28-75
70-200

Planning to add an FA31 and something 300mm+ at some point, but I know I've got a lot of ground covered already so I'm trying not to rush into anything.

Back to 7 again. Listed in my Sig. Only using the 25 this month. Lots of fun.
Those are all excellent lenses. The Zeiss Distagon looks like it might be a fun lens to use.

Looking at your lens stable there's no question that you "Need" the FA 31 The best Pentax 300mm lens is the F*300. It's like an FA 31 only in 300mm length and best of all it comes in the off white color which gives you instant street cred. I mean just look at it......

Since posting my list a month or so ago I discovered a couple of lenses that I had somehow left off of my previous list.

smc PENTAX-A 15mm F3.5 (don't know how this one got left off)
SPRIATONE PORTRAGON 15mm F4 Soft M42

I recently acquired a K mount to 6X7 adapter so I will add my:

smc PENTAX-6X7 120mm F3.5 Soft - I know I hung onto a couple of others, like a 55mm and the 135mm Macro but I no longer have the camera so I haven't used them in awhile and they aren't readily at hand.

Also thanks to cyberjunkie's discussion on soft focus lenses, it has renewed my interest in them.
I had only ever really used them on my film bodies, but since my LX has been off to Eric with what looks like a terminal main board, I've begun trying them on my K3. As such I also recently acquired:

smc PENTAX-FA 28mm F2.8 Soft
TAMRON SP 70-150mm Soft F2.8 (51A)

That's a fantastic lens. It's just not that cool off white color that gives you instant street cred.

Check out my F*300 flickr photo's

I'm not sure that the F* is the most beautiful 300mm made by Pentax.
I might be biased... but i love A* lenses! I really, really like my 300mm A* f/2.8. I find it a work of art.
Of course AF gives an advantage over a fully manual lens, but for some kind of photography a well damped focusing helicoid is invaluable (and for racing and birds trap-in focusing is often the only way to go).
I agree that off-white Pentax lenses are wonderful, though.

Whatever, aesthetics are highly personal. Fortunately
Otherwise, what a boring world would be!

ciao

Still waiting for the FA*. It should come with a lenscoat, so the finish shouldn't matter too much

I was going to post something about size and overcompensating, but I won't.

FWIW that A* 300mm F4 is a great little lens. With IBIS it becomes even better. Mine is almost always in the bag.

Gee, I went the other way ... I have a DA 10-17 coming in.

I wanted to see the difference between it and my Samyang 8/3.5 ... a battle, one will stay and the other will go.

(Yeah, right)

Always the same battle; one will stay, and so will the other one - but how to find room for them?!

Well, there's always the attic which is high enough and large enough to convert into two usable rooms ... just need to throw a bit of money at it.
