Originally posted by richardwong Nice shot Allen. That would be a fantastic trip and seeing you were able to get such a close up of such a neat thing watching the mom and her cubs feeding. The Tamron has the reach but just think what a DA60-250 with a teleconverter could show with the pop that that it has or a DA* lens. I'm partial still seeing those in the galleries and other forums. I have a Sigma 70-200 HSM and the colours aren't the same as a Pentax but I needed the speed.
thanks for the comment but a lot of the credit goes to our experienced Guide John Ngoma who placed us in the right spot all the time, especially for the mother cheetah and cub. initially we were all alone and then two other vehicles came in as well so it was a great opportunity.
we stayed while the cheetahs fed then left, then vultures came in and then a single black-backed jackal.
I was lucky to have the K 5 II and the Tamron 70 - 300 mm which I bought for the trip, other wise I would have been using a *1st DL and manual focus Vivitar Series 1 70 - 210 mm macro focusing zoom and/or a Vivitar Series 1 200 mm prime (auto focus in lens)
