I have 2 Domke F3 and a LowePro backpack (100AW)
  1. K-1 | 3 FA Limiteds | D FA 24~70 | 540FGZ
  2. KP | 5 DA Limiteds | DA55~300 | 360FGZ
  3. LX | 5 fast manual lenses, 20~200 or K-1 | FA*300

I specifically seek and keep SMC (K) lenses. Aside from those most of my stuff is a one camera / one lens combo or leftovers like the Tamron AD-2 SP’s. There are plenty of ‘average’ Takumars and M + A lenses in the drawer. People have dropped off boxes full of old Spotties and there might be a good lens in there. A Forum member once sent me 4 M lenses as a gift. They just accumulate.

My house is starting to feel like I have 7 cats and a bunch of old newspapers.

Well, based on my recent buying spree, I apparently don't have enough lenses. What am I thinking?

I feel like I'm starting down a road I might regret someday. But, hell, it's fun to research old lenses and find them on eBay.

I bought my first Pentax DSLR 2 years ago. So I have about one K mount lens for each month that I been shooting Pentax. I still have a few Olympus OM mount vintage lenses but they are gradually getting sold (and the $ used to buy more K mount lenses, or maybe M42 mount).

Crazy? Absolutely

One of my life plans is to win the lottery and then start a collection of Pentax lenses. Having a nice shelf (or shelves, more likely) to display them is part of the plan

So, just the "modern" ones, or all of them?

I don’t display my boxes, but mrs monochrome surely covets the shelf space my boxes occupy. That alone is reason to sell some boxes (with the lenses in them)

Sounds to me that you may be a candidate to rent one of those self-storage units on the outskirts of town.

I have two large "locking" metal filing cabinets full of camera gear, so Mrs Gofour3 sees nothing....

All is well.

It isn’t how many lenses you have that matters. It’s having interesting lenses. monochrome sees the chest of drawers full of randomly-acquired lenses and the shoeboxes full of randomly-acquired cameras though.*

I think it is time to emulate Phil and concentrate on K series, my passion since the 70’s. I will keep pre-Spotmatic bodies and contemporary lenses for their beauty; my SP-F with one SMC Takumar 55/1.8 for reference, the K bodies and lenses and the K-1, + my active lenses. The original idea was to use manual lenses on my KX and a FF digital K-mount plus the Three Princesses. Then a real case of LBA set in.

I suppose the LX can stay, and perhaps an M lens or two.

* I have a small 4-drawer bedside chest with rubber mesh drawer liners that holds my collection (and that part is a collection). My collection of Pentax gear is therefore self-limiting - or should be.

Well, all of them of course! Some of the modern ones I already own and use a lot, the older ones would be just for the bragging rights
