If I did a lens-a-week challenge it would take more than a year.
Do a lens/camera per week... diff't lens and camera, simultaneous, over a week's time. then how long would it take to cycle thru?

Complex,multi-factor analysis, given presence of m37, m42 and K-mount manual and AF cameras and lenses.

Do I use a camera only once? (that means I can’t use all the lenses).
Do I use AF lenses in Manual Mode on Manual cameras (and converse)?
Do I cycle the cameras until all the lenses are done? (that means lenses are the limiting factor and cameras don’t matter - and i need an m37 -> m42 adapter)
Do I use each possible lens on each possible camera for a Weekly-In (I won’t live long enough to complete the permutation, but tonight I’ll count them and calculate it ).

FWIW about a dozen or so - at least 1/2 of which haven't been used for a decade

Clearing time

Not long ago, when I realized I had 24 lenses and that some were not used anymore because I had better ones, I decided to sell some. So far I have sold 3 M-type lenses and 2 A-type ones are for sale. The ones I will keep are the DA21, DA70, FA135, DFA100macro, and a range of K-series lenses, except for the most bulky ones perhaps (50 f1.2 and 135 f2.5). I would like to get down to 10-12 lenses but it's easier said than done because I only have primes.

This thread has been dead too long...

I looked at my spreadsheet the other day and realized I have more than 100 lenses now (more than 60 cameras). 3 more lenses and another camera arrive today...

My addiction has spread to Konica AR, Olympus OM and Exakta Kine...

But it's time to pause and save some money for CLAs...

That is quite a few for a hobbyist.

I am currently at 23 lenses acquired in exactly 8 months of DSLR ownership. I have even sold several in that time period. I am looking to reduce the number to what will fit in my Sumo backpack and several spares at home.

I will definitely keep my Limiteds, a couple of shorter manual lenses and my 55-300 PLM, and now my Sigma 70-200 because it is just beautiful. Everything else is liable to be going up for sale at some time in the near future.

It is cool to try out different lenses but I am looking to cover FLs and then choose what I like best. The problem is that all of the lenses I have acquired are good in one or more ways and it is hard to decide. Maybe I should try a single in week or month to narrow the choices

down.

How many lenses: not more than I had two years ago, late 2015 being the last time I bought a lens. And it's one I use a lot.

How many lenses: not fewer than I had two years ago. Despite having way too many lenses I haven't got rid of any. Keep telling myself I will.

I have actually managed to let go of... five (thundering applause...) since the beginning of 2018! This brings me down to 44. Planning sell another five, then think really carefully about the next purchase(s)...
