Nah, you don't have that many.

Across several different mounts I currently have 152 lenses: Tim's Home Page · ? Camera Lenses

She certainly knows I have LOTS OF CAMERA STUFF.
I doubt she knows just how many lenses I have around (or even how many bodies). Generally she just considers it permission to go & get something flash for herself. She also knows how cheap I am so probably assumes any lens I have will have cost under £20 - which might well be true for about 3/4 of my lenses.

I have been banned from bringing home any more photography books - so now have a filing cabinet draw full of them at work as well. After my Holidays I've decided to pass a few of my swaps on to friends at our camera workshop - that should give me back some space round my desk

6x Pentax K: 18-135, DA 50, D FA 100 WR, Tamron 10-24, 70-300, Sigma 17-50
3x Nikon 1: 10-30, 18.5, 30-110
3x Canon FD: Tamron Adaptall2 28-200/3.8-5.6, Hanimex MC 35-70/2.5-3.5 "Macro" (1:2.7) (probably same as Soligor?), Sigma 70-210/4-5.6 Multi-Coated
Got those FDs for free and played with them a bit adapted to my Nikon1 V1. Especially the Sigma at 210 (x2.7 for the 1-inch sensor ^= 567mm), but this didn't make me all too happy because of the all-manual fiddling on the Nikon.

You've got a nice little list here based on what has been posted today.
I have been leaning towards quality rather than going nuts and buying everything that people have taken good images with here in the forums, although that is how I got my Takumar bayonet

There are a couple that will never go away unless they are gifted, like the Promaster 28-80 (Pentax F equivalent per Exif.) Fine on a 16MP camera but terrible on my KP. The Rikenon 50 was only 10 bucks so it has value only as an occasional shooter for me, as I like the image quality from it. There are a few I would never part with like the SMC DA 15, DA* 50-135 and my FA 77 Ltd, but If the price was right I would sell most of the rest of them. Not because they aren't good but because special rendering is special rendering. The SMC DA 40 may get added to the keep forever list also.

About a dozen - give or take - because some are so old and "awful" that nobody would (or should!) buy them. Of the rest, I use about five on a fairly regular basis!

Can't get my brain around "folks" who have "n" of these and "m" of those - lenses are meant to be used, and so that sort of "excess" is "unfathomable" to me!

OTOH, lens "collectors" might well be like stamp collectors! Well, I was one of those in my very early teens - until I discovered photography and using my lenses!

Hoya 24/2.8 (now used only if the M28 isn't quite wide enough)
M28/3.5 (the one I use, stuck on the K-01)
Two third-party 28's that will be sold.
M35/2.8 (will be sold unless I prefer it to the following)
M40/2.8 (for KX if I get it back from my daughter)
40xs (will be sold)
M50/1.7 (should sell but such a great lens!)
M135/3.5 (should sell but remarkably small for a long lens!)

There you have it.

Tom - how did you get rid of so many lenses so quickly? 11 + 3, wow you sure did get rid of your LBA, I'm down to 14 as well and I don't think I can go any lower.[COLOR="Silver"]
I listed several on ebay and gave a couple away on the Marketplace. Some were really good lenses that I'm not using, because the things you shoot do change from time to time. I never did use a couple of old lenses I had bought in auctions with other lenses. I just never really took to a couple of Sony lenses I sold. I probably would have got more selling the lenses on the Marketplace, but it would have taken longer. I did't want it to drag out, I probably would have decided to keep some of them.

The time?. It´s incremental. I take a snapshot of every lens I buy and save it in Telegram. When I update the list I just scroll it down.
About the Helios, I love them. All of them. I have 12, all different versions except the silver 13 blades (2 of them). The reason I have 2 is that I found a copy with the serial number 000xxxx at a very good price and just decided to buy it, knowing that I will always be able to sell it with a profit. A kind of investment.
Good catch with the Helios 0000 then

Sony A7, I just prefer the form factor and EVF + short flange distance makes a mostly manual kit more practical. In rough conditions I'll take the K-5 + DA18-135 (I barely trust the A7 in a light drizzle...).
I had hoped Pentax would make the jump to mirrorless with the K-1 (an A7-style body with Pentax-style controls & weather sealing would be my ideal camera).

It's too late to sell the K-5 at a decent price and it still has a place but if selling the K-5 + DA18-135 would make up the price difference between a used A7 (I bought mine used for 600€) and a new/used A7III, I'd sell it in a heartbeat.
I don't think I'll ever sell all my Pentax stuff (I'll give you my K28/3.5 when you pry it from my cold, dead hands!) and there are a couple of manual Pentax lenses that I wouldn't mind having but I'm done investing in the Pentax system.
I have more fun with manual Pentax lenses on the A7 than I ever had on the K-5...
Maybe the rumours of the new GXR might be a good omen for a smaller form factor.

Wow, Tim, 152. I'd have to check through the post to see if that's the highest count we have so far

12 that's a good manageable number.

Well, given my age, my interest in photography and thus my LBA just started a few years ago and is constantly kept in check by budget constraints, so... just give it some time to grow

But on the other hand, those Canon FD lenses aren't that good optically and are a hassle to use, so I don't really use them, so I should get rid of them... if only someone would be willing to take them, that is.
