If you use Android, Memento Database is great for it.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that, I was planning just to use a Google spreadsheet.

As few as I can getaway with (which means "not many") - and a few that I don't want/need, but would be ashamed to try to sell on because they are so awful!!

A dozen primes and close to same number of zooms - for various complicated reasons related to LBA I have duplicates of most of the focal lengths.

I have three current zooms 10-17mm, 16-85mm and 55-300mmPLM, so on my K-70,a camera with great ISO performance, these three would cover almost any general situations. I have a couple of primes that I almost always include if I can - M28/f3.5, Sigma 50mm/f2.8 Macro and DA70mm Limited. So there is a light-ish travel kit, with zooms covering almost everything and specialised landscape, macro and portrait lenses. For wildlife activities I can grab an old Tamron 500mm cat lens with 01F to double the reach.

A few others that are optically superb, so too painful to think of selling - Tamron 52B 90mm/f2.5 Macro, A100mm/f2.8, Tamron 03B 135mm/f2.5, FA50/f1.4, DA16-45mm/f4 and Tamron 23A 60-300mm.

A few classic feel lenses from the film era that just feel like they are perfectly engineered, added to the above - Tokina 17mm/f3.5, Tamron 01A 35-80mm/f2.8-3.8, M80-200mm

So there you have three reasons to have an oversupply of lenses :
1. Good kit to do everything to current high standards
2. Optically special lenses
3. Engineering classics

And it looks like I'm preparing for a Pentax Full Frame DSLR. :-)
It shows that my tastes are getting more expensive! But high prices, SDM reliability concerns, and the possibility of a Full Frame body around the corner have me looking more frequently at FA and F lenses than the top DA lenses.
Seems like your dream did come true 2 years later

Ok, so I think I may have purchased my last lens. I needed a wide angle so I ended up with a great deal on a DA 14. And of course a K-50 and two kit lenses DA L 18-55 and DA L 50-200 just happened to come along with it, but I swear that's it....I'm done.
Seems like your last lenses got company
