That lens is truly a close-to-car lens. I had planned this winter to get up to the Mississippi Flyway to shoot the Trumpeter Swans with the K1000/8 but I never got around to buying the necessary Wimberley Head, HD legs and lens plate. I haven’t yet converted to Arca Swiss and I hope to do a full conversion to RRS ballheads, plates and a new monopod and legs. I need to sell gear first, obviously.

When I do get the lens out again I plan to roll it iout to the shooting spot on a two-wheel dolly.
