Yes, I have heard in the past that the expression "Necessity is the mother of invention" is not correct; the correct statement would read "Laziness is the mother of invention."

I just got a CLA'ed brassy black Spottie & ST55/1.8 that's still on my credenza at work. It's actually fun to use a well-loved SLR.

Every younger person who picks it up can't believe how it feels compared to whatever Costco dSLR they have at home. They marvel at the meter switch and the needle and turning the focusing ring. A few of them even seem to understand why one would want to do it the 'hard way.'

Not many, though.

Nice to know so many- but not all - Pentaxians share that enjoyment, especially the manual focus glass, the machining, fit, finish, all of it!
Great workmanship never goes out of style.
