PENTAX auto extension ring K set 30535

Does anyone have any information on the PENTAX auto extension ring K set 30535? I have seen them for around $510.00 on Amazon but all shipments appear to be from Japan.

Thanks

If these are the tubes you mean - mine cost $75 in the Marketplace. That Amazon deal is either a mistake or a scam.

They are being sold from several Japanese stores. I assumed for the price that they had auto function like the $500.00 Nikon extension tubes. I have seen no feedback on them anywhere. My question is does the electronic metering actually function? I have seen many extension tubes that are manual only in the lower price range. Is the PENTAX auto extension ring K set 30535 actually manual?

Thanks

I have no knowledge of these particular extension tubes, however I do have the Kenko set which do have the contact points and the metering does work. These are no longer manufactured but do come up for sale on rare occasions.

$500 is a stretch - I paid <$200 new some years ago.

Hope that helps.

You can find Vivitar tubes with the A contacts as well.

What I do is remove the glass from cheap teleconverters.

The link with info you found is correct. "Auto" simply means the tubes have a mechanical connection for the diaphragm actuator. A set in good condition with case might be worth $100 or a bit more, but not much more.
