So let them add ten bucks to the price. It would be worth it. These Limited lenses are already premium prices, for good reason. Love them and own four. Wish all were WR.

+1!

Will summer appear again?
For the Land of 10,000 Lakes? Yes, about July 12th or so, and will run until August 28, just in time for the back to school specials.

The ice on the lakes stops evaporation except during our one month summer. Our lakes do not dry up in a drought. The ice just gets thinner.

Even more reason to have a full line of WR lenses to compliment the fine Pentax WR cameras.

Well, sadly it seldom works that way in manufacturing. Almost each extra step will be calculated as a potential profit opportunity and the upgraded product gets priced according to the perceived extra value to the customer, not the actual extra cost. It's all about profit maximization. Supply and demand, if you increase the demand with the same supply the price ends up higher. Why would they go for less calculated profit for the upgrade?

Just think about the extra premium people pays for each upgrade kit for a new car, it's way over actual manufacturing costs.

Does that thing actually work?

Don't most microscopes have a image plane distance of something like 250mm?
