Using a superzoom on the K5

I have a Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro HSM mounted on a K5.

On the lens is a switch for Auto or Manual focus.
On the camera is a switch for Auto, C, or Manual focus.

Question:
It seems I can leave the Auto switch on the camera on all the time and switch between auto and manual by just using the switch on the lens.
Or do you think I should be using both just to be on the safe side?
Not sure if there is any possibility of damage or malfunction.

Thanks, good to know.
It's not quick shift but it's a lot better than fussing with two buttons.
