Hello!

It was ok

Till now I didn't have time for that - I know what has to be edited but that is a bit hard to do it manually

this Database is still alive, I'm getting lensroms via mail and adding them to the folder so it's getting bigger and bigger.

Fixed a 100mm macro WR with another lensrom - the previous one (original one) made problems at focusing with my K-1, now I'm more than happy with that lens.

Till yesterday, I've got a HD D-FA 28-105mm for my K-1, but I've got some focusing problems (from back-to front-focus through the 28-105mm range). I added my 28-105mm lensrom to the
database, so maybe it helps another pentax user.
But it would be very nice, if someone could send me her/his 28-105mm lensrom, maybe i've luck and the lens will be "fixed" with a new one.

cheers!

Hello Duc,
I wonder the difference among the folder 1, 2, 3 of DA 16-50 in your database. I will be grateful if you tell me that.

Cheers,
Cheungyu

Hello Cheungyu,

sorry for late reply!
The difference is the adjusted focusing - so if you have problems for example with front-focus, you can try a different
lensrom (backup yours first). Maybe you've luck and one is working perfectly with your body.
...that's the way I fixed the autofocus of my 100mm Macro WR.

edit: added new lensrom for HD D-FA 28-105mm.
I had luck and still guaranty for my lens - so I send it to pentax and they adjusted the focus.

Hello Duc,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried to use your database because I failed to export the lens ROM file in the debug mode of my K3ii. When I pressed the “Lens ROM Camera->SD”, the screen turned black for a short while (less than 1s), and then nothing happened. When I put your Lenseep file in the SD card and pressed the “Lens ROM SD->Camera”, nothing happened too. So I don’t know how to do to deactivate the SDM of my DA 16-50.
In Chinese forum, some guys succeeded deactivating using K5, K5ii and K5iis. But nobody succeeded using K3ii.
Do you know something about it?
My English is not very good. Sorry for my wrong (maybe) expression.

Cheers,
Cheungyu

edit: nothing happened means that lenseep was not created in my sd card after "camera -> sd"

That camera body can't update the lens rom from any known method.

I wish I had better news. The k-3 and k-50 were my two main bodies when I wanted to back up my lens roms... The k100d and k100d super were my answer.

Wow you are so lucky. I only have k3ii and can do nothing when the SDM of my DA 16-50 broke down.

To be fair... I had the K100D Super - which should have worked. But I misunderstood the instructions and ended up buying a K100D on ebay. It was around $100 - I still have that camera and use it to do conversions with but it is slowly failing. My K100D Super is my backup for conversions. I will likely invest in a another K100D at some point if demand continues for conversions.

I bought a damaged K20D for only 20€ for doing this. This camera crashed on the ground but it's working for lensrom conversation ;-)

I have a Tamron 17-50mm that has severe backfocusing at 17mm but fine at 20mm and above. Do you know what values to change in the EEPROM to fix this? I've tried 3 EEPROMs and all show the same problem. The original EEPROM backfocused at 35mm.

did you noticed any differences between those lensrom and your 17-50?
So the original lensrom has only backfocus at 35mm and the other ones at 20mm?

Because I don't know exactly if other brands are also working with lensrom as Pentax itself is doing it.

I can upload a excel file where you could find the values you need - I did this once with a 50-135 for testing

the lensroms had different degrees of backfocus at 17mm and different amounts of AMFA needed, but the differences them were subtle.
