M 80-200mm f/4.5 - first shot

Well, not 'the' first shot but one semi-worthy of posting.

I hope the weather is good tomorrow to post some daylight shots, specifically a blue heron that eluded me today.

100% crop, no editing.

I have this lens and absolutely love it. Since I can't afford a modern equivalent at the moment this guy has kept me very happy.

Yup, too busy for my liking.

As for the M 80-200 f/4.5 its a very nice lens. Try and get Ver. 2 as the zoom collar/slider is much better.

According to Bojidar Dimitrov's Pentax K-Mount Page; Ver. 2 lens has a linear aperture-coupled lever, a feature of the KA and later lenses.

Received mine today. Wow, I'm impressed at how nice and sharp it is throughout the focal range. Exposure is consistent too. Very nice...

As for the version, it's version 2, which you can differentiate from version 1 by the position of the red line/dot on the barrel. In version 1 it is lined up with the number 16 of the aperture ring, in version 2 it's lined up with 4.5.

How is the zoom collar better on version 2?
