SMC F 35-70 - star bursts at night possible?

I have a sudden interest in this oldie but good lens. Many forumers love the old SMC F 35-70. I am not here to dispute that. I just would like to know if this lens can produce nice starbursts like the DA15, DA21?

Check out the sample photos below:

Based on that I'd say you can get OK starbursts, but they don't seem as pronounced as they would be from the 15mm.

Thanks Adam. Very quick answer. Not as nice as the limiteds but for a lens costing a fraction, I don't think I can complain.

Thanks again.

Always best to seek an odd # of aperture blades; my secret word is 'Quantaray', which are often down-labeled Sigmas with seven or nine blades. I'll go try my Qray 28-70 and see what I get... Yes, it works nicely with 14 points - but a few flare blobs, which modern lenses control better.

Thanks Jim. After being pampered by the DA15 and DA21, it seems extremely difficult to get satisfied by other lenses
