I was on the Clifton Cameras website looking at the Tamron 70-200 that they have on sale unfortunately though none left in stock.
I contacted them to see if they could order one and was advised that Tamron has discontinued them.
I dont know if this is exclusively in the Pentax mount (the lens is on also out of stock in Sony mount) so I checked with SRS who dont stock it but are Tamron stockists. They said they can order it in 7-10 days so I am unsure if it is discontinued or not.

Anyone know anything about this?

I saw it on the Tamron UK website and have not read anything about it being pulled.

I did wonder if it was no longer available in K mount if it was because it would be rebadged as the Pentax 700-200

I was on the Tamron USA site yesterday so I could show someone what one is (I received mine Wednesday). It is in their current lineup.

Jaje67....... I've noticed that Park Cameras, don't list it, and Wex Photographic have it on a 5-7 day wait.

A fair few of the offical stockists dont list it but Pentax does seem to be the poor relation in availability.

The shots of my cat turned out nice, but this weekend is when I will be giving it a good workout to see how it does.

I think they have switched to all SR models, which they do not make a Pentax mount.....but there are plenty in stock at many vendors

Thanks but I think I will keep my options open. I am quite interested in a second hand Canon 70-200 f4 for ~£350 and a 50D for ~£170. Both weather sealed and the best 70-200 available.

I contacted Tamrons importers, intro2020, who advised the lens is available and not discontinued. I went back to Clifton Cameras who told me they were no longer going to supply the non VC lens in any mount.

I looked through all the websites of official suppliers on the Tamron website and Ffordes, SRS and Clifton were the only ones who stocked mount and even then it was not the full compliment. This isanother reason for looking at Canon.
