Originally posted by Stratario I need some help to make a decision. I already have a couple of primes, the new DA 35 F2.8 macro, and the FA 50 F 1.4. I'm looking to add to my primes, perhaps a DA 70 or a FA 77. I have a couple of questions. Any help would be appreciated.
Qestion 1 - Having a 35 and a 50mm, which of the two short tele lenses would complements what I already have better, the DA 70, or the FA 77?
Question 2 - I also have a Tamron 28-75. Do I really benefit that much from getting either the DA70 or the FA77? Does anybody else have the Tamron with one of these two primes? Are the primes that much superior to the Tamron?

K100D, DA 35 mm F2.8 Macro , SMC FA 50mm F1.4 , Tamron 17-50 F2.8 (ordered) , Tamron 28-75 F2.8 , DA 18-55, DA 50-200
The Tamron 28-75 is probably the best IQ zoom lens on the market...When I had Canon gear I used it frequently.
It falls in to my "Brutally Sharp" category.
Here is just one sample.
When stopped down to f5.6, I doubt if you would see a difference in IQ in an A3+ format print between the 70 Ltd and the Tamron.
Sample "Unfortunately" compressed at 5 out of 12 in PS...Therefore JPEG artifacts.
