Tamron 28-75 vs. FA 77 or DA 70

I need some help to make a decision. I already have a couple of primes, the new DA 35 F2.8 macro, and the FA 50 F 1.4. I'm looking to add to my primes, perhaps a DA 70 or a FA 77. I have a couple of questions. Any help would be appreciated.

Qestion 1 - Having a 35 and a 50mm, which of the two short tele lenses would complements what I already have better, the DA 70, or the FA 77?

Question 2 - I also have a Tamron 28-75. Do I really benefit that much from getting either the DA70 or the FA77? Does anybody else have the Tamron with one of these two primes? Are the primes that much superior to the Tamron?

No zoom can touch prime like DA 70 or FA 77. However, when you stop down the zoom, you can would get closer the the prime. How much closer, I don't really know.

The answer to your question would depend on your style of shooting. Do you enjoy shooting primes? What's your intend with the prime? the zoom? The Tamron is one of the finest in its class (at least price/performance wise). So if you reveal more, we might be able to help.

Personally, I enjoy my primes tremendously. I put the Tamron on my back up body, in case I need it. But most of the time, I would just switch primes for my purpose.

It really depends on how you shoot. For my money, I prefer the zooms for easy of composition. My two lens of choice are the two DA* zooms (16-50 & 50-135). The modern zoom are so close to the primes you can't tell the difference in the final print.

The Tamron 28-75 is probably the best IQ zoom lens on the market...When I had Canon gear I used it frequently.

It falls in to my "Brutally Sharp" category.

Here is just one sample.

When stopped down to f5.6, I doubt if you would see a difference in IQ in an A3+ format print between the 70 Ltd and the Tamron.

Sample "Unfortunately" compressed at 5 out of 12 in PS...Therefore JPEG artifacts.
