Picked up the FA43 ltd, now looking at either the DA*55 or 100mm macro I know two totally differnt lenses for different applications but both are on my radar...

Given that you have the 43, the 100mm would be the better option to go with.

DA* 55 is my favorite lens that I have ever used, and I own a FA43 Ltd.
It depends on what you are looking to do.

The F/FA 135 is also a very good contender for long portraits (headshots and such).

I haven't had the pleasure of shooting with the DA*55, but I also have the FA43 and love it. But the D-FA 100mm Macro is hands-down my most-used lens. And it can do portraits too!

And landscapes...

And architecture...

I would pick the 100. But that's because I have the F35-70.

I would pick the 100. I have the FA 43 and since I already have the DA*50-135 I use it as a great portrait lens. So the 100 falls right in there plus its macro and cool looking. Don't forget the cool factor.

F/FA135 is nice. DA*50-135 would be great too.

I think you'll be happy with any of these 4.

+on the 100 macro, with a strong vote for the DA 70mm Ltd, a nice reach, great portrait lens, and good with short depth of field landscapes.
