cannot wait...
I'm pretty sure this is out because I nearly bought one. Ended up with a 35 1.4 DG instead. At least they are in the UK...

My friend at Sigma's Canadian distributor says "April at the earliest," but that's for up here in the Great White North, not anywhere else. When it comes to Pentax products, we seem to get first dibs... not so much with other brands.

Me too!
Apparently (again from Sigma Canada) the mount conversion service requires that Sigma has actually *made* the K-mount for that lens, and the parts are available to service centers. Whether they've started shipping the full lenses to retailers in large numbers is another matter. My guess is that the 18-35 lens assembly line has been kept busy with CaNikon for long enough that the K-mount parts are just sitting there...

I don't see why or how I need to prove it. Sure, on Amazon there's a 1-2 month waiting time but there are independents out there that have some (probably grey) stock. Here are some links:

Buy Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art Lens for Canon | TipTopElectronics UK
SIGMA Art 18-35 mm f/1.8 DC HSM - Zoom lens | Pixmania

I'm not saying these are the best vendors out there but I have successfully ordered (and received) goods from both previously.

Perhaps some lucky guys got the pre-production copy...

Not sure what links to Canon and Nikon mount versions of this lens have to do with Pentax mount being released..? Maybe you almost bought the lens for your Nikon or Canon or Sigma SD1M, but checking those sites doesn't turn up the lens in Pentax mount.

Every new Sigma DSLR lens is available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma SA mount on release, with Sony and Pentax coming up "later." That's how Sigma rolls these days!

In this video the guy talks about how sigma can change the mount to fit different camera so why can't you buy one for nikon and get then to put on the pentax mount like they say can be done. That way if for some reason the pentax version does not have the sr built in and your still paying the same price as one that does , (because sigma said it cost them more to produce pentax mount lens because they don't sell as many) My guess the pentax version will have to have the sr built into this lens if they are saying the mount can be changed to fit different camera body's .
