About fast prime lenses

Disclaimer: My english is not that good.

Hello to all! Im looking for recomendations about 50mm (or 55) and 35mm (or around that FD). f/1.4 or 1.8. Im looking for each of these lenses in the following cateogories:

-Best value lens (around U$S400)

-Dream lens

My camera is a K30.

Also:

What do you think about the new Sigma "artistic" line?? they say they are as good as a zeiss, at least in the aesthetic of the lens itself. Would you go to a Takumar M42 with an adapter??

One that fits all in ($400, dream lens, 50mm) is the fabulous K 50mm f/1.2 if you can stand MF. Same goes for the SMC Takumar 35mm f/2.

I assume because you mentioned a Tak you dont mind manual focus? Are there any other strict requirements you are looking for other than a fast 50/35

Best value 50mm: SMC Pentax-DA 50mm F1.8 Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database
Best value 35mm: SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

Dream lens is a little harder and more subjective. You will most certainly get people recommending the 31mm and 43mm limiteds.
But to stick to your focal lengths:

Dream lens 50mm: SMC Pentax-DA* 55mm F1.4 SDM Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database
Dream lens 35mm: HD Pentax-DA 35mm F2.8 Limited Macro Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database or maybe:SMC Pentax-FA 35mm F2 AL Reviews - FA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

AF is important, but I prefer IQ if I have to choose.

Value 50: F50/1.7. Fast, superb AF performance, light/small, great IQ, all for $200. Easily the best value lens I own.

Dream 50: A50/1.2. (or K50/1.2 if you don't mind stop-down metering)

Value 35: no experience

Dream "35": Fa 31 limited. Focal length a little different than what you're looking for, but this lens is amazing. If I could only keep one lens for the rest of my life, this is it.

Best 'Value' 35mm, I would say would be a Super Tak, or SMC Tak 35mm f/3.5, for about $75, but that's definitely not fast... haha. the 35 f/2 is as sharp and faster, though, and still under $200.

I have a Sigma 28mm f1.8 macro which is better wide open than I'd thought it might be. I didn't buy it for wide open work, rather the macro/close work but I really like the lens.

Dream lens - well, merely based on others comments, I'd go for the FA 31mm Ltd. Whether it would fit my style, I don't know.

Well, that and an FA300* or I'd settle for a DA*300

I love my Sigma 30/1.4. My 8-element Super Tak 50/1.4 is a treasure, too.

The Sigma 50mm, f1.4 is very sharp and available new for around $349 at B&H, until stock is gone. A new model has replaced it. I shoot the Sigma on my K30. Wide open is tack sharp but the extremely short Depth of Field can mess with Auto Focus and confuse the camera about what the subject is. So I use focus lock with center point AF-S to make sure of focus. Great value lens.

Dream lens in the 50 range would have to be the DA* 55' f1.4

At 35mm, the value lens is the Pentax DA35, f2.4 and dream lens is my Pentax SMC DA35 f2.8 Macro Limited. I got the Limited from B&H on Black Friday for a reasonable cost, probably because the new HD coated Limiteds were then the latest release.

When considering manual focus lens in the 28-35mm category go witha Rokinon/Samayang 35mm f1.4 UMC, i have one and i love it to bits.
As far as auto focus lenses i'd go for SMC FA 50mm f1.4 (or F series if you can find one), or if your budget is bigger for portraiture buy either the Pentax Fa 77mm f1.8 limited or the Sigma EX 85mm F1.4 HSM

Rokinon 35mm f1.4 (highly recommended as a budget lens, my examples are mediocre)

Sigma 85mm f1.4 HSM, expensive but then so is the Fa 77mm f1.8.
