I appreciate the different advice I'm getting here. Still undecided but you have given some great things to think about. I am trying to minimize as much as possible but don't want to limit myself. I really do like wide angle shooting so I'm leaning towards the 10-17 and the 21. Unsure what I want to supplement them with. Thinking either the 40 limited or 50 Tak and either the M100 or M135. With cost of trip can't swing any new lenses right now....although the 18-135 will be a future purchase for the WR...just not in the next couple weeks. Thanks for weighing in and additional thoughts are welcome.

I could personally do the 21 and the 40 and be fine. But the 10-17 isn't that big and you emphasize liking to shoot wide, so I would say definitely take that. The 21 and 40 are so small in their pouches that the bulk wouldn't be a concern for me. So if you have the space, I might go with a 10-17/28-75 zoom kit AND the 21/40 prime kit. The zooms give you range and flexibility if you're carrying a camera bag around, while the two primes give you almost-pocketable portability. Done!
