Just picked up a Tamron 200mm 3.5 and I believe it is the 870Au model, although it does look a bit different then the one pictured here, it is pretty close:
Tamron Adapt-A-Matic Series Lenses
Picked this up at a local thrift shop complete with a hardcover case and and it does not show a modem number. It is silver and the lens reads:
Auto
Tamron
1:3.5
f=200mm
No. 430318
Ø62mm
The body itself show "Made in Japan" as well as "USA Pat. No 3500736"
The lens has a sliding switch that allows me to set the aperture to A and the f-stops go from 3.5 to 22 (EE for auto?)
Focus shows to go closer then 2 metres.
The "body" lens cover reads Mamiya/Sekor and looks to be original. It is M42 and threads on (my first old Tamron) to what is likely an adaptal adapter. It is labeled "For Pentax" "Made in Japan" and "USA Pat. No 3500735"
The lens also has a tripod mounting bracket.
So: a few questions........
1). I don't find a lot of info on the quality of this lens via Google. Any opinions out there?
2). I don't have an M42 to K mount adapter yet, and am curious if that is my best option or if I could use a newer adaptall to convert it directly to K-Mount....or is there really no technical benefit either way?
thanks...
