Pentax multi-mount

This thing looks like swiss army camera mount.
I don't know Is it usable for everyday work or not:
Pentax Multi Mount resurrects historic lenses from Nikon, Olympus, Contax and more—without an adapter
Any additional technical details and opinions will be appreciated.

There have been multiple threads about it.
Search in the forum for threads with "multi mount".

EDIT:
As far as I can see, it is not (yet) available as a WR version.
This may limit usage with your K-5.

Didn't know there was a difference between WR and non-WR bodies at the mount.

Does this mean that the adapter will work on a K-500, but not a K-50?

I have contacted the seller, there are not any mounts available for WR cameras at the moment. I was told they were in the works but it would be months out.

wr camera's have a wide mount flange, so this is too slim. You can install it but there will be space between flange and body. The K-500 also has a wr flange, because it is the same body as the k-50 without the sealings.

It would be a perfect use for my K-x, but would just fuel my already out of control LBA. I bought 3 more lenses yesterday...

Using PK+MM on Pentax film SLRs. - Adaptist

QuoteQuote:
It is not recommended to install PK+MM on non-autofocus SLR due to the following reasons:
Only Nikon F mount and Konica AR mount lenses can be used as the aperture stop-down coupler will prevent Olympus OM mount and Contax/Yashica CY mount lenses from mounting properly.
Specifically:
1. KA2 mount: Exposed AF coupler hole. (SLR: MZ-M)
2. KA mount: Exposed 1 electrical contact hole and AF coupler hole. (SLRs: P30T, P3N / P30N, P5 / P50, P3 / P30, A3 / A3000, Program A / Program Plus Super A / Super Program )
3. KF mount: Not possible to be installed due to different position of electrical contacts. (SLR: ME F)
4. K mount: Exposed 7 electrical contact holes and AF coupler hole.(SLRs: LX, MG, MV1, MV1, ME Super, ME, MX, K1000, K2, KX, KM)
5. Other companies K mount SLRs: Mounting ring design may be different.
If you are only going to use F mount it should be ok.

It is the first I've heard of it. Glad he posted the news!

Looks like this would allow one to connect Nikon lenses to their Pentax body.. but I wonder if this means Pentax K mount lenses no longer function once this mount ring is installed in the camera body.

---------- Post added 03-04-14 at 02:45 PM ----------

Can Pentax K mount lenses still be used?
Yes, definitely. PK+MM is designed to accept other camera mount lenses in addition to its original K mount.

---------- Post added 03-04-14 at 02:47 PM ----------

but some bummers..

Please note the following for all adapted lenses:
- Autofocus is not available. Only manual focus is possible.
- Aperture control is manual and its availability is dependent on the adapted lens.
- All adapted lenses turn approximately 50 degrees clockwise to mount fully.
- All adapted mount lenses are secured by tension of the leaf springs inside the camera body.

- There is no lens release catch.

Thank you
In fact I don't see the problem when using it on K body either.
There're holes of course but those can be patched somehow if needed before applying.

This is a genius product
