Question : Does anyone think of this one is salvageable ?! Not a lot of bidding action (none yet) ... J (French evilBay)

Fungus is easy to clean but my biggest concern would be that the fungus has damaged the SMC. If the fungus has been there for a prolonged period I would avoid it.

I think the risk of coating damage is pretty high in that one. For the right price I'd give it a shot, not that much though.

My thoughts, too ... it looks pretty rough to me ... worthy a gamble, not sure. J

Start is @ 40€ ... if I needed it to repair another lens, maybe a "yes" ... it will be interesting to see what it goes for ... J

I would let the auction end, then contact the seller and negotiate him to a lower price then have him list it on a buy it now listing and pick it up. I have done that successfully with some of my lenses. It's easy to clean but like others have stated the downfall is if the Multicoating is damaged but at the right price it would be worth it.

By the time the auction ends, the lens will already have a winner.
