tele zoom options

I have a K-5, Sigma 16-50 2.8, Pentax 50-135 2.8, and a Tokina 80-400ATX 4.5-5.6. I plan on getting the new Pentax 1.4 teleconverter, but I don't think it will work well with my Tokina lens. The Tokina lens takes excellent pictures but it is slow and hunts a lot (no internal focusing). I have the first version; after I bought the lens the second version came out shortly after with internal focusing. I could use the teleconverter on my 50-135, but I've been looking at the Pentax 60-250 4.0 for a long time. The price seems to have come down to almost the same price before Ricoh took over. Not so with the 50-135, which luckily I bought for $850 just before the price hike. I've been holding off on the 60-250 to see if Ricoh was going to come out with a new lens in that range that would replace it since it's been out for a long time. Any thoughts on that happening? Has anyone had any experience with the Tokina 80-400ATX and the Pentax 60-250 to compare them? If so, I'd like your thoughts on IQ and autofocus speed. I know I wouldn't be getting as far of reach with the Pentax, but if I pared it with the 1.4 teleconverter it would be a little more comparable in range. I was hoping they would come out with a new model that fixed the motor issue as well, but if it's going to be 4-5 more years before they replace that lens then I would seriously think about getting it now.

I have used the Pentax AFA 1.7X with the 50-135 and there were no unanticipated problems. I even got one BIF with the combo. You will be about 1/2 stop slower with the 1.4X and 60-250. I suspect it will work all right with decent light.

135-300

I read in another thread that there may be a 135-300 WR lens to be announced this year. If this is true it might be a better option than the 60-250Da* depending on the optical quality and aperture. I don't know why Ricoh doesn't at least update the 60-250 motor. Maybe it would be too much of a redesign. Any thoughts on the 135-300 rumor?
