Usually I take
- Da 15mm
- Fa 31mm
- Da* 55mm
Works well because I have weather sealing if needed

Sometimes I may sub the Fa 31mm for a Fuji X-E1 with 35mm 1.4. Then I have a backup body .

Just because you made me choose...

In the past, I've used the following 3 prime kits:

weddings, engagements, and related stuff
da35 macro
da55
fa*85
for outdoors, it's the 85...the shorter ones are for indoors

leisure shooting, environmental portraits, street, people stuff
da21
da40
da70
80% with the 40, outdoor portraits with the 70...barely used the 21

Out of what I own...
DA 21
DA 40
Tamron 90 2.8 macro

But I'd love to pick up that DA 70 and round out my limited trio!

Yes, nice to see the the Zenitar on your list: I recently did a comparison shot from a tall building using the DA15 and the Z at f/8 - the Zenitar came out of the comparison better than I expected. Stopped down somewhat, perfectly viable cheap WA option (once you've adjusted the focusing ring … )

Incredibly mine is the same selection

A fourth would be the DA15 Ltd, a fifth would be the DFA-WR100 Macro
As you say, this makes us both geniuses - don't know what's wrong with everybody else!

I might not have figured it out on paper, but I found in actual usage this is what I'd do. For example, I would pack my F*300, FA135, FA*85, and FA*24. I'd put my F*300 on one camera, the FA*85 on the other, and swap in the FA*24 if I needed something wide. That was all I needed for the day.

But if I had to pack really light I could (mostly) get away with only my FA135 and FA*24. FA31 just isn't wide enough sometimes, while FA*24 is both wider and fast. It's hard to explain exactly how this works out (not having other focal lengths), but somehow it does. But I'm certain that the quality and character of the lenses is a key factor which makes up for the lack of zoom.

Recently I found that I like 50mm more than 35mm on the crop sensor.

So from my current kit, it will be:
DA21, DA50, M100macro

Mine will be:

DA21 f3.2
Sigma 30 f1.4 if I wanted AF or K28 f2 if for leisure
DA 50 f1.8 if AF is needed or Cosina 55 f1.2

I seem to gravitate to the 28mm-30mm range more and more preferring it to a 35mm. I also seem to be contented with the 50mm-58mm range for portraits on APC.

21/43/77 for street (but no WR option)
15/35/100 for a more versatile option (two macros and a WR option)
15/55/300 for everything. Crop/stitch if you need to.
