There was absolutely nothing wrong with that. Some posters tried to use this thread (and others) as a personal soapbox.
I can say with a very high degree of confidence that it won't be further issue; in this thread, anyway.

Or I'm just giving good advice.
What if the FA LTD series doesn't get the HD coatings? Plus, based on the reviews of the FA 31 LTD, your advice is limited.

So here is my advice. This thread has a bunch of posts that testify that it is a terrific lens. Read them. Go to the lens reviews and read what those who own it say about the FA31. Finally, contact Parry via PM and ask for his story on his copy. Then make up your own mind.

BTW Parry. You should include your story in the FA31 Lens Review. It is always good to have some balance in the review section. (which reminds me, I should post my own review.)

I've got the 70, 40 and 21 mm Limited. I got the 21mm Limited F 3.2 last. The novelty of the 21 has not worn off yet...so I would say my 21mm Limited.

But, I like them all. Fine lenses...every one !

Lesmore, you don't sound very confident. Is that a definite? Can I add you up for the DA21 in my tally?

For me, I already have the one Limited lens that I want: the DA70mm.

The first two years that I had it, I used it mostly at f2.8 to f4.0. It was very sharp at these settings, but the results you get at f5.6 or f8 is unbelievable.

It really excels at portraits, and at photographing any other subjects, provided you have enough room to shoot.

If I could have a second Limited, it would be the DA21mm. 20 to 25mm is the focal length I mostly use to photograph groups and other indoor shots with my 16 - 45mm, and this lens is quite sharp at f8.0.

It's nice to have a large lens collection, but the older I get, the more I realize that less is more.

The DA70 looks so good on the front of my K-01.

I'm confident. My 21 mm Limited is an excellent lens....aside from being a prime which means I have to perform the zoom function by moving myself ...I have no other reservations.

It was a toss up between me selecting my DA 70, DA 21 and DA 40...Limiteds. They really are all....excellent.

I also voted for the 43 BTW Not sure I could swap out the 43 for the Helios (I also own the 44K-4) although the bokeh is all it's own...
Oh, I would not trade the Helios for the 41 ltd either. I just meant that having the Helios meant losing the 43 would not hurt as much!

Hello again, everyone.

As I said in post #129, the DA70mm excels at portraits, and any other subject, provided you have enough room to shoot.

This is a good example: an old Chevy Nova. To photograph cars, you need about 10 meters or so to get a good shot from a 3/4 angle, and not have the car cramped in the frame.

This is what the DA70 yields @ f8.0.

Mike

Nice shot of the Nova! I like the 70 for near landscapes as well. Nice reach for the background to be larger.

if I could only have one limited, it'd be the FA31, because I could sell it for the most money to fund other lens purchases.

like asking me if I could only date one supermodel....
