I started with the 15. Told myself that was all I needed.

Balderdash.

most likely my FA31 simply because on a crop sensor it's the closest to a 50mm equivalent that there is and it has few peers for sharpness and detail.
Back when I had my Nikon F2, the 50mm was the only lens I had.

Why are you limiting my Limiteds?

FA43. No competition in my eyes.

You meant FA*24, right?

bdery, no fair splitting the ltd lines into FA and DA :-)
Ha, ha :-)

But you know, link81, your original post is asking a really, really difficult thing - restricting to only one! :-)

The FA43!!!

My favorite was the DA40...then I bought a FA43. Poor DA40 hasn't "seen the light" since that day.

Which one would it be?

Note, I said one Limited, Not one Lens. Is there a limited that you want, or have, that does something that NO other lens can do?
Unfair question. I have four Limited lenses. You are asking me to choose between the Lady and the Tiger. So I choose the Lady, 15mm. She controls my mind.

I am tempted to select the 35 f2.8 macro, but only because that's one I don't have at the moment.

But in truth, the 21 f3.2 has been my true hero since I bought it, always able to give me a decent result.

So, the 21 f3.2 (But I will be trying to smuggle the 70 as well...)

Only one, then the 35mm 2.8 Macro. Why? Because a "normal" lens is the most flexible, and the quality of this Macro is empowering.

I've had them all, and still have most of them. The FA77 was the first limited I bought, and will be the last one I part with.

FA77, the rendering is sublime, as is the build, size, damping on MF, and dare I say built-in hood? I wish they all worked like that...

I think the only other option would be the DA15, as I prefer the Zeiss 35/2 to the FA31 (yikes!). I tried the FA43, but she (the pixie) didn't agree with me.

SMC DA 15 was my only limited for quite a while and it's still a favorite.
