bdery, no fair splitting the ltd lines into FA and DA :-)

Well, it's not fair to limit us to one limited...

Can I pick the DFA 100mm WR macro? It's technically not a "Limited" according to the text on the lens, but it is in the mind of many Pentaxians.

Good choice, I'd say it's limited material...

DA35macro is the functionally most versatile however it's the one I use the least

DA15 is probably the most fun and I use it a lot

DA21 is the most useful overall FL for me

But the FA31 is currently the favourite and the one I'd choose
.

Seriously though, What a cruel question. It's almost like asking to keep only one of your children.

These two lenses make up my kit. Still getting the hang of the 15mm but I have seen glimpses of what is possible with it. The 43 is just a crusher all round, it spends a lot of time on my camera.

If I could only use one lens it would be the 43mm

FA 43 or DA 15. Both had properties that I just loved. Probably leaning more toward the FA 43 than any of the others.

I too have long favored the 43 for portraits/indoor photography, but lately I have been playing around with the 15, it is indeed a lot of fun!

I'm not going to vote, but I'm keeping track of the votes in this thread. I already know the first one I'm going to buy, but I don't know which would be the only one I'd want, at this time...

So here are the current standings. If you posted but don't see your name in the list, it's because you didn't pick the one Limited that you would have if you could have just one. No multiple choices (or non-Limiteds) allowed

Yes. Sorry, I must have been typing too fast - I didn't even notice.
The FA*24 isn't a Limited Lens, but even till today (I've used it since film days) it consistently produces images that just make my jaw drop. Talk about character!! Fabulous colours, truly beautiful rendering. This is one very special lens. And in one sense, it's become "Limited" since it's no longer in production....

Which one would it be?

Note, I said one Limited, Not one Lens. Is there a limited that you want, or have, that does something that NO other lens can do?
Technically, my answer is none.

Why?

For me, it's a tie-up between the DA35 f2.8 Macro and the FA43 f1.9. Both are unique lenses, and for my priorities in photography, both do things no other lens can.

Too close to make a call (we're talking something like 50.5 - 49.5 here), so to answer the question precisely, my answer would be: none.

But the most Awesome Lens of all Time is coming to a hociR dealer near you: the f/1.2 10-600 Limited.

Yes, but early test reports say that it isn't quite as sharp in the extreme corners at f1.2 as the 31Ltd is in the center at f5.6 so it's clearly going to be useless the average person.

On the current market, mark me up for the DA40. But if you want to skew your results, I coud easily vote for the 21 or FA43

This is really interesting. It's spread amongst all the limiteds much more evenly then I thought It would be. One of the reasons that I said pick one limited, was to leave it open to have all the other lenses. You could have all the *'s you want, or sigmas, or tamrons, but only have one of the limiters.

This really is all hypothetical, I'm not taking any of your lens's away :-). I'm just wondering which one has that extra little bit of pixie dust, that makes it truly special and unique.

I really should have included a poll. I think the results would be really interesting.

This is hard to manage with just one. If I could only have one it would have to be the DA 35 Macro. It s a close call over the DA21 which is so compact and versatile.
