Personally I use my 50 more than the battery grip. I only use my battery grip for my long Sigma lenses when I wish to use OS rather than SR.
Originally posted by tyrepeddler I think I will start with the kit with the 18-135 and go from there as it is a great walk around lens from what I heard
For years I believed the DA 18-135 was optically a sub-par lenses, and for years I was very mistaken. A very versatile lens that gives one a complete WR set-up.
Just to clarify my recommendation on the Sigma 8 - 16. A very good renticular lens that would fit the gap below 16mm.
Personally I have gone for the DA 12-24 since I will be using it primarily at 12 - 20ish in a shooting session and I want to avoid having to change lenses. (And basically being a Pentax lens it can correct things in camera which allows me to be lazy, use the jpegs, and get away not doing PP on Raw files
