Cheap bokeh lense

Hello,

I'm looking for cheap manual focus great bokeh lense. What can you suggest ?
Theres is samyang 85mm f1,4 with great bokeh.
There is hellios 85mm f1,5 https://www.flickr.com/groups/helios_40-2/ with more amazing round bokeh, but it's quite expensive these days.

What can i find not very expensive to get as much as great bokeh ?

You can try the Helios 44-2, bokeh isnt as strong as the one on the 40-2 but it's still interesting

Keep in mind that an m42 lens might be cheap, but you need an adapter, and the adapter can cost as much as the lens!
But yes, lenses like Helios 44 series, Pentax M 50mm f1.4 are a great place to start. Around 50-135mm are the cheapest bokeh lenses, and the ones under 85mm are most versatile.
The Samyang is probably a good choice. Its probably the best new lens at that price. Look for the reviews here:
Samyang 85mm F1.4 Aspherical IF Lens Reviews - Samyang Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
Vivitar (Samyang) 85mm F1.4 - Review - PentaxForums.com

But even lenses like the Horus Bennu 50mm f1.7 or Zenitar K2 will allow cool bokeh. (I think these two cost under $100 in mint new condition)

You can also try the Mitakon 85 mm F2 lens for Pentax on E-bay brand new for $159.50 fully manual lens. It has 10 aperture blades.

Great bokeh is in the eye of the beholder. One of the Helios 58mm f/2 lenses has amazingly weird bokeh and might be a good choice but I forget which one. For smooth I would go with an Pentax-M 50/1.4, which is very nice.

+1 for the M 50mm f/1.4 .... It's a stunner at it's price, and ridiculously compact.

Bokeh of the really cheap (usually about 10 on eBay) M135/3.5 is not too bad. It all depends on what and how you shoot

The Bokeh Club thread is the place to look ...

IMO many old 135mm f2.8 (Vivitar 1 f2.3, ST/K f2.5....Sonnar f3.5) lenses have good bokeh and some are quite cheap.

Helios! Helios! Helios!

At least the 58mm f/2 44 series in M42 screw mount. They were made (literally) by the millions and sold attached to Soviet-made Zenit SLR cameras. One should be easy to find and cheap (less than $25 USD) in Lithuania. I would suggest the Helios 44M since it has the A/M switch and eight-blade iris.

The so-called "circular bokeh" is quite variable between lenses and occurs across all Helios 44 variants. My copy will do it, but only with certain backgrounds.

This are a couple of my favorites from the Helios 44M that demonstrates the consistent center sharpness that is characteristic of the lens* as well as what I consider to be decent bokeh...

Notice the nice eight-sided highlights in the second shot.

For a more complete sampling including several non-bokeh shots, see this extract from my Flickr stream:

* All Helios 44 variants trace their ancestry to the pre-WWII Zeiss Biotar 58/2. The Biotar is known for center sharpness at all apertures and corner softness.

Personally I think the Samyang (I have Bower) 85 f1.4 takes a lot of beating for bokeh (while also managing to be sharp) - you need to pay a lot more for something better. It also has A position making it easy to use.

My favourite bokeh type lenses I currently have SMC Tak 55 f1.8 (great lens and good bokeh), A 50 f1.4 (good lens and pretty good bokeh), Helios 44-2 (funky but interesting bokeh) and the Bower 85 f1.4 (lovely bokeh and sharp wide open).
So if you have the budget for the Samyang (or variant) 85 you probably wont be dissapointed but there are lower budget options that can produce nice bokeh (but not better than Samyang - that I have seen).
My Samyang samples (not super good but give you an idea of performance):

I couldn't resist another plug for the Helios 44 and the available sharpness. Below is a full resolution (100%) crop from the K10D taken with my Helios 44M:

When I absolutely, positively need the bokeh to be as creamy as possible, I grab my Takumar 50/1.4 (8 element).
