Some more DA* 50 - 135 love

I purchased a DA* 50 - 135 from a member here and it just came in the mail.

WOW, is all I can say, what an upgrade over the Kit lens.

Can't wait to get out and start using this! I thought the AF wasn't working at first because I couldn't hear it. LOL.

one of the best lenses from an IQ standpoint in the Pentax Zoom line up.

I think you'll find it's excellent at f/3.5 (and sometimes f/3.2). I think it's the best IQ available in a Pentax zoom (save something exotic, like perhaps an FA*250-600).

I will have to check that.

I did some quick shots from 2.8 to 22 in full stops, but will go back when I have time to check out the mid-point.

Thanks

I believe that no one ever questioned the IQ of this lens. It is the AF that that keeps it from being an excellent lens!

It's still an excellent lens. The AF is only too slow for demanding applications like some sports.

The 50-135mm is a special lens. I thought I would get rid of my copy after getting the 60-250mm, but haven't been able to bring myself to do it.

I have also just purchased the 50-135, still waiting to arrive at my door setp, very very exited, can't wait. I also ordered the new x1.4 TC just in case I need some more reach and for future long run if I get the 60-250.
