Lens Suggestion Needed

A friend of mine purchased a K-3 recently and wants a high quality zoom. She will use this for nature, urban, and people shots. She wants good bokeh. Her ideal range is something along the lines of 18-85 (ish). If you were to recommend a lens that would best meet her needs, what would it be?

Pentax 18-135
Sigma 17-70

There is also a 16-85ish on the roadmap but not release date.

I'll second the 17-70mm:

The Pentax DA17-70 and FA24-90 are both nice.

DA17-70: PENTAX : Select a PENTAX interchangeable lens camera or a lens model

FA24-90: PENTAX : Select a PENTAX interchangeable lens camera or a lens model

The FA28-105/3.2-4.5 is also very nice (and very economical) but not as wide: PENTAX : Select a PENTAX interchangeable lens camera or a lens model

I have (or have had) all of them, and I still use the FA28-105/3.2-4.5 (which I think is better than the other FA28-105, BTW).

However, if you really want eye-catching images, you split the range up and get the excellent DA*50-135 (much better prices if bought used) and whatever 16/17/18 to 50 (or 70) lens you chose - generally a Pentax DA*16-50, DA16-45, DA17-70, or one of the Sigma or Tamron options.

Tamron 17-50 f2.8, one of the best zoom I used.

Tamron 28-75/2.8 . f2.8 if you need it , almost a macro with 12" min focus and a very good portrait lens, very versatile. Taken with a K10, a K20 and K5 respectively. Its now on my K5IIs bodies.

I perfer the Pentax to the Sigma, though in my experience, the Sigma is sharper at longer focal lengths and focuses closer.

Oh and let's not forget the Tamron 17-50mm F2.8. I recently saw a good deal on a used copy of that one.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

What do we know about this 16-85(ish) lens on the Pentax roadmap? Will it be weather sealed? Do we know the speed? Or when it might be announced?

All we know is that a lens with approximately that focal length is on the roadmap. No other info. Best guess would be we won't see it until late fall, if it happens this year.
My wife's kit is Pentax 18-135 and 55-300, that gives her a good range with two good, light weight lenses. She also has my DA 35mm f/2.8 Limited and won't give it back, but that's another story.....

I suspect it's highly likely that the lens will be weather sealed, as that appears to be the direction Pentax is going with their zooms. There were rumors a few months back of an 18-70 f2.8 or an 18-70 f2.8-4 lens appearing sometime this year.
