Do not purchase it. It's too expensive. Well, not the lens itself but once you have it, you suddenly need the 77mm, the 31mm, the 15mm, the ...
And that gets expensive.
Too late!!!

Even though I don't own a Limited yet, I've already been loosing sleep. And I want all three,

...at once,

...yesterday,

...and the day before that

...and the day before that!

People who ignore, dismiss, repress or just ventilate their feelings and desires are setting themselves up for physical illness. So it's either surrender to LBA or hospitalization. Your choice.

Why do you need a review? It's an FA Ltd, either you like the focal length/aperture combination or you don't!

I swore-off FA lenses a while ago. I just want to drool over the review.

FA = Full Aperture, because it's just that sharp of a lens!

43ltd is anything but irrelevant. In fact it is one of the reasons oh so many people buy into Pentax, for the FA Ltd's. But the spirit of your post I agree with in that there have been many reviews. Few though have been really in-depth preferring instead to pure numbers or the reviewer just not having near enough time to spend with any of them because, ya know, it's get it done and on to the next review.

I like seeing new reviews of older lenses. Why? To see what engineering change orders have been implemented, if any. Lots of rumors about coatings and less stringent tolerances on the AIV vs. MIJ builds of the FA Ltd's. We already coatings seem to have changed when leaded glass was no longer used but where and when did that occur. What differences, if any, do the changes make to the images, character and limitations of the three lenses. So lots of stuff to keep up with...oh, toss in how do the work on the new 24mp sensor?
