Opinions on these zooms?

I have three K mount manual Pentax zooms from long bygone days: SMC 45-125mm, SMC A 70-210mm, and SMC A 28-135mm (a heavy beast). How good are these lenses?

My 45-125 doesn't say "M" on it. It's an earlier lense and just says SMC. Any opinions on the 28-135?

Another good MF zoom is A35-105 f/3.5.

You'll need to try them out and judge for yourself.

You can also look in the pentax lens database within this forum rfor reviews.

2 of the 3 are KA mount lenses which means that in the A setting they will work just fine in all modes on pentax DSLR's

I would keep them if you have an intent to going to digital, because they will bridge the gap nicely until you decide what you want

Tha A70-210mm is a very good lens. Of the 3 you listed, that would be the one I'd grab. It's big and heavy, but it's also nice and sharp with great contrast and color. It's also a constant F4. I just replaced mine with the F version, which is a little slower at the long end but just as good in terms of IQ.

The A70-210, A35-105, and A35-70/F4 all seem to be very highly regarded Pentax zooms. Having a little shootout with the ones you already have is a good start. IMO, the lenses with the A setting have an advantage in their ease of use.
