Lens setup for Super GT racing weekend

Hey everybody,

yes, this another one of those "help me chose my lenses for xyz purpose" threads - because I know you love them

Will go to the Super GT season start tomorrow.
Round1 OKAYAMA GT 300km RACE
I will possibly have the chance to go to the pit lane as well.

Here's the lenses currently in my posession... I want to travel light if possible.

Pentax SMC M-28 F2.8
Pentax SMC M-50 F1.4
Pentax SMC M-120 F2.8

Pentax SMC DA 55-300mm F4-5.8
Pentax SMC DA 21 F3.2 AL Limited

Pentax SMC FA 50mm F1.4
Pentax SMC FA* 85mm F1.4

Tamron AF 17-50mm F2.8

Any suggestions?
BR René

Take the 17-50mm for pitlane and wide angles

Take the DA 55-300mm for on track action

Maybe pop either the 50mm f1.4 or 85mm f1.4 in the bag too (whichever is your fave) to get some car/ppl portraits if you get a chance. Don't forget to enjoy the racing!

I was thinking along those lines as well. Those might be my most "boring" lenses, but in that case it's about focal lengths and efficiency.

I got the 85mm just yesterday. I think there's no way I can leave the house without it.
I just have to try it out.

Was thinking about the DA21 as well... it is so small, might not make a big difference... let's see how my packing goes.

Ok, start your engines, here it goes....

I uploaded only a few dozens of pictures out of the 32GB that I snapped away, but I hope those are the more usable ones.
I divided them into 2 categories, "RACE" and "PIT".

Find the complete RACEpictures on my flickr here:
Super GT 2014 - Okayama [Race]

... which includes shots like these:

And find the PIT pictures on my flickr here:
Super GT 2014 - Okayama [Pit]

... which includes shots like these:

I did not want to flood this thread, there are too many pictures, so I only picked a few examples.
Feel free to look up the rest on the links provided.
Looking forward to feedback!

And, as a feedback to the original question:
  • FA*85 for portraits
  • DA 55-300 for the race

More was not really needed.
