Possible FA* 250-600. Questionable though.

I just wanted to drop a note I got from Google Alerts that an FA* 250-600 came up in some classifieds in sanfran. I contacted the seller and they offered to sell me the lens for the amazing offered price of $3000, however they, a day after the listing was posted, they have moved to the UK, and have taken the lens with them.

They said they we could use an escrow service to ensure my safety in the purchase; which I explained that if you have a US verified paypal sellers account would be totally unnecessary.

The whole thing got more interesting when I did a google images search with one of the images and found an identical listing somewhere else in the US that had since been pulled.

It could be a real opportunity, although they haven't responded to my query if they have a verified paypal sellers account; and they did respond pretty quick to my initial query.

I'll keep you posted.

I talked to that guy a year ago about a different big lens for an amazing price. He moved to the UK that time too, just before I got to see it.

I offered to meet him one year ago in London. He had recently moved from US to London. But suddenly he decided to move to Australia :-P

I have encountered exactly the same story - and the same price - for a very rare 1200 mm f8 lens.
The seller located in South of France, a hundred kms from home, had just moved to germany.
I suspect he was using the pictures of my own 1200 that was listed on eBay.
Ask him the serial number of the lens, he will probably be unable to reply

I came across that same ad a few months ago,
Someone checked it out and it was a scam.
