Is it worth the buy

on CL, I found this sale.

35mm Vintage Pentax K1000 SLR Camera w/lenses

Is it worth the money or not?

What I can't see is him listing an Alibinar as a Albinon, And an A 50mm as a 55mm. I couldn't even find that one in PF lens reviews. Please don't usurp me and buy it. I need another few lenses and although I have no idea about the worth of the Albinon/alibinar, nor the odd pieces he advertises, I am still considering the sale.

I doubt if it's worth $50.

Not worth it at all IMHO, the 55mm lens is the best in the lot, and can be had for under $60. Here is the review on the K 55 f2. SMC Pentax 55mm F2 Reviews - K Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

Alright, thanks. I'll let it pass for this one deal.

Roob n boots, that is not the lens he is showing in the photos of his sale. The one he has in his hands shows an A this one doesn't show an A and actually says "without 'A' setting" in the description. Is there a 55mm 2.8 that has an A on it?

I bought the 55mm f/2 from KEH just over a month ago for 24 dollars in "bargain" condition (I can't see anything wrong with it at all). Very good lens.

The Tokina 28 is also probably a good lens, I'd say worth 30 bucks.

The K1000 - probably needs a CLA, so I'd say 30 bucks is a reasonable price.

The flash - I guess it's a Vivitar - looks a lot like this Sunpak I just got, I'd say it's worth 10 bucks.

That's about it. 60-80 bucks is the most it's worth as a package, and that only IF you have use for everything.

Here in Atlanta there's also some people trying to sell film cameras for absurd money like that. They are always there when you do a search - pretty much since I bought my Pentax camera last summer... Craigslist is free to announce so I guess they figure they don't lose anything by asking a ton of money. If someone buys it - profit! But don't be that fool...

No! No! No! The body is worth about $100-$120 in v.good to ex condition CLA'd with warranty in a shop and about $30-$50 (depending on market and condition) otherwise. The Pentax-K 55/2 is worth no more than $35 in ex+ condition. The only other item of interest is the Tokina 28/2.8 and it is worth about $25-$35 assuming excellent condition. The rest is pretty much throw-away.

No more than $75 for the lot if fully functional and in v. good or better condition.

The one in his hand is the Tokina 28 2.8...

I knew the price on the K1000 because I just recently acquired one from the Marketplace here for $40. The lenses is what I was interested in but you all say they are't worth what he's asking for so I'll still let it pass. And Christian, thanks for noticing what I didn't about the one in his hand. I actually should have known with the f2.8 he had as listed the Tokina has a f2.8.

Yeah in the picture where the camera and lenses all appear, I saw that the focus grip of the one with the Tokina cap was the same as the one he had in his hand, so that confirmed it to me...

People are funny about prices for used cameras on CL and kijiji--I think they must base their asking price on what the equipment cost when it was new. You should offer him $50. The flash looks like a Vivitar 285, which is worth having.

I have decided that it's not worth the hassle of contacting him about it. Yes, I realize most people on CL don't have a clue about the worth of film cameras or lenses. I saw another add for a K1000 @$150. Incredible that these people haven't any idea what they are selling.

Appears that you like film cams. I have 2 Zx50, a PZ 70 and a few lens I want to sell. I'm in Jamaica now and will be back in Dallas, Ga in a month or so. The lens are a Viv 28-85/3.5-4.5 A type, manual focus. two Pentax F 35-80/3.5-5.6 and a Tamron 28-200/3.8-5.6. PM me if you are interested Like everyone said that price is way out of line.

No, I already have a K1000 and a MZ-7, I was looking at the lenses only. But, also, I have two 28-80mm's and a 50-200. I don't need your equipment. Perhaps you could put them in the MarketPlace here and sell them.
