How does a lens hood fit in a FA 50mm?

I have the lens posted below but I don't understand how a hood mounts to this. Can someone pls explain. Thanks!

You screw it in to the filter threads on the front of the lens. It has a 49mm diameter.

Indeed, pentax makes a very nice 49mm screw in rubber extendable hood (I have two and use one on my FA50 and the other on my DA70 or 35 f2.4). Got mine from B&H.

You can also get squarish third party ones that clip in like a lens cap.

I have the Pentax rectangular hood.

I also have a couple of generic screw-in rubber collapsible hoods.

This is the one I usually use with my FA 50, because it provides much better shade. No vignetting, despite the long shape.
