K 50mm f1.2

Anyone has it? How do you feel about this lens? I understand it is one of the fastest lens in Pentax line. Anyone use it with K10D? or just film camera?

I had a hard time searching in the forum about it... any wide open sample will be great~

Thanks

i have a A50/1.2, it's easy to use with K10d because it can use AV fuction. A50/1.2 (not K50/1.2) have one piece of glass --A-GRIN, it the only one lens use GRIN glass in the world.
the K50/1.2 is older than the A50. i have no choice to caompare with the 2 lens. but the K50 and A50 are all easy to be find.

Interesting info, I've never heard of a GRIN glass. Can you elaborate more on this?

good to see more torontonians on the board!

the A50 and K50 1.2 are similar in optics
if you want to purchase a K50 1.2, there should still be one one still at Adorama $349
if you want to buy a new A50 1.2, it's $600 at matsuiya, i've done my research :P ... almost bought it

One of my favorite lenses. Great bokeh, but the DOF at 1.2 is very thin! Here is a link to some shots, not all are wide open.

NaCl(great low light performance and don't believe those that say it's very soft wide open)H2O

Bow-man: Are you refering to Axial-graded-index (AGRIN) lens?

K100d: haha I saw it too.. but $600 + shipping is kinda too deep for a 50mm, as I already have a 50mm/1.4; and by turning the Aparture ring myself to save me $300+, I will do it.
I understand that K50/1.2 has 8 blades only where A50/1.2 has 9 tho.

NaCIH2O: Great shoots! so I should bring a tripod for sure if I take picture with 1.2?

about GRIN, pls refor the page:http://www.grintech.de/datasheets/introduction.pdf

if you realy want the lens, i think the A50 is the best choice.

Well, so basically, it has a more even corner and center performance. Good to know, I've not had any chance to try out my A50 yet. I guess it's time after all.

Yes the K 1.2 has eight aperture blades. All of those shots were hand held, the only one where I really wanted a 'pod was the shot of the small pink flowers. But I do have steady hands, and the DS + the K 50 1.2 is a relatively light weight combo.

NaCl(I also got a bit lucky on that particular shot)H2O

the "A" feature is definitely worth it to get, seeing how iffy the stop-down exposure is

Haha I doubt there's even a K50/1.2 or A50/1.2 owner in toronto for that matter, lol.

A great lens. Looks awesome on any camera. German girls love the K f1.2 on an ME camera.

(Note: tested on only one fraulein.)

Also this lens shouldn't cost you more than $25 AU...
