Defective 16-50 2.8

A Pentax Canada tech representative told me the way to check for defective 16-50 lens. With a wall at 3 to 4 yards, at 16mm and f:2.8, you focus carefully and if a corner seems blurred (generally upper left corner), then the lens is defective. He said this is the easy way to find out. I have to take his word since my lens work all right, but it is worth a check by other members.

I won't say much other than I'm not that impressed with the Pentax Canada Tech staff at the moment.
So I wouldn't really believe that.

To me the best test is real life results.
