Tokina 28-70 f/2.8-4.3 Macro 1:3 Test Shots

This is one of my favorite manual zooms from Tokina that has an 'A' aperture and it has 1:3 Macro for casual close up. This is not a professional grade zoom, but I highly recommend this inexpensive manual zoom from Tokina, especially if you can't afford AF fast zoom like the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

I have the hardest time in letting go this zoom in my gear.

That first shot is great! That's the problem with seeing all these great pictures... it makes one want more lenses.

Avaialbe for sale in Marketplace

I have placed this lens in Marketplace for sale. And current sale goes with a free flash. Price is stated at $60 + shipping. Hope someone helps me to unload this lovely manual lens with 'A' aperture and 1:3 close focusing magnification. I especially like this lens for its fast speed at f/2.8 and the close focus capability. This is one of my favorite zoom lens and I highly recommend to others who enjoys manual focusing

The results look very impressive. I have heard that this Tokina is a good lens and your examples seem to bear this out admirably. Nice photos indeed.

Lens on sale in Marketplace

Tokina is on sale in marketplace
Marketplace Sale thread

Few test pictures from Yesterday

This lens has a loose focusing ring design. I always like this type of focusing ring that seems harder to use in the beginning, but once you manage to control the grip using thumb and middle finger and turn with index finger, you cam control how loose (or fast and precise) to go in focusing. The lens works well in trap focusing. I have similar lens like this Tokina lens: Pentax K 45-125 f/4.0 and Prakticar 28-70 f/3.5-4.8 that I make use of the fast focusing ring for action shot in manual focusing. I fell short in shooting BIF as it was late last night. I would try it again later on seagulls close by

cropped heavily as the seagull is far
