Can a 50-135mm that has been converted to screwdrive work with standard teleconverter

I'm wondering if anyone who has a SDM-disabled Pentax DA* 50-135mm can confirm if it will work with standard AF teleconverters?

Can not answer your question, but I have that lens and the new HD DA 1.4x converter from Pentax. Optically they are not a good match. You will get a lot better result by cropping the image without the converter. I don't know how it performs with other converters.

Just tried my screwdrive DA*50-135 with my Kenko Pz-AF 1.5 SHQ(the one w/ SDM contacts) and it does autofocus with screwdrive. It's very slow and hunts a lot, but that could be because I'm indoors. I'll go outside in a little to recheck.

I haven't checked the image quality because the combination isn't terribly useful but my screwdrive converted 16-50 will focus with my screwdrive only Vivitar 1.4x (Tamron clone?) teleconverter.
