You might find sample photos in the lens reviews section for each lens and also in the "club" threads, like this one:

Revuenon 55mm F1.2 MC Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

F1.2 lenses are very specializedlenses, difficult to focus and fairly expensive for what they actually offer. But they can also give some stunning photos, of course.

My A50/1.2 is easy to focus with focus peaking in live view,
on the K-01 or K-50.

I was saying to a Canon shooting friend that with his eyesight the lens he was interested in buying might be hard to use, but he pointed out that a good f1.2 lens is also a good f8 lens. :-D

But it can be very expensive for an f/8 lens!

Yep. I did show him the Katzeye as a way of actually getting the benefit of the toy he was enamored with. :-)

I have the Revuenon 50mm F1.4 and the Pentax A-50mm F1.7. Not sure which one I like more, they both get too little exercise

I have both the Pentax A50 1.2 and the Revuenon 55 1.2. They are both great lenses, with the biggest difference in the photographic results being in the bokeh, which is far more characterful in the Revuenon.

If you want more 'correct' and smooth bokeh then the Pentax is better. I do prefer the pentax colours, although I think the CA performance can be a little worse. The Pentax A also has the benefit of being able to use more camera modes and greater flash flexibility, since the aperture can be controlled from the camera body. Revuenon really needs you to use green-button metering in manual mode.

Difficult to choose between the two. Perhaps this might depend on whether you already have a longer fastish lens already for subject isolation purposes, with smoothish bokeh. If you have (say) the DA* 50-135 then I would say the Revuenon can do things it really can't! The Revuenon is also usually significantly cheaper.

Any other views?

Quite some time ago I decided that if I have real difficulty choosing between two items, buy the cheaper one and save some money.

I had the Revuenon 55 f1.2 for a while.
It is a great lens, and very well made. I just didnt use it enough to keep it (I have had many 50mm's over the years and have kept none of them. I just don't like the focal length on APS-C).
Here are some samples.

There was a nice article on diminishing gains of using large aperture lenses on digital (bigger than F1.8) on light-gathering ability. I think it was on lens rentals or dxo.I think it could also affect depth of field, if some of the light-rays are cut off, although I haven't seen a test. If I were you I would compare the F1.2 to an F1.4 version and see if you can even tell the difference. I figured it wouldn't be worth the price and weight difference.

I will get back here if I manage to find this article.
