hll,

If your sending it in anyways make sure you ask them to fix that metering issue at the same time
I've never seen a camera quite that bad.

I suppose there's a chance the problem are related. If a camera thinks it's too dark it has a tough time focusing.

Send them your camera with the lens, just in case they say the camera has no problem and think it is the lens problem or other way around.

but yea i have never seen a 16-45 out focus that much

thank you eveybody, i really appreciate your help.
yeah my camera metering is problematic, too. not with this lens it does not change with fa 50, a 50. i think they should repair it, too.
thank you, guys
i will inform you as soon as possible.
one more question, i was reading dpreview, nikon dslr talk.
one of them (a man who prefers d80 to k10d) said that k10's metering sucks. yeah my camera sucks but is it so in general???
thanks

Di you have to send in ant lenses. Pentax Canada says nothing wrong with my camera. But they also say if problem persists, which it is, to send in lenses it does it with.

Dave
I only had to send in the camera body, with no batteries, no eye cup, no strap, no memory card, etc. Essentially I had to send it in stripped. I also sent along photos (on a CD) taken in my back yard of a line of Guinness beer bottles. I set the bottles about 2 or 3 feet apart, then took a photo from one end of the line of bottles, focused on the nearest one from about 10 or 15 feet away. The focus was sharp about 20 feet behind the point of focus. It wasn't necessary to tell what lens I used or what I had focused on because everything is in the EXIF data in the image file.

Not that I have heard or experienced. It sound like another hateful Canikon owner. It is sad that some people run down the competition one day, then dump their camera and buy the brand that they just trashed! There are plenty of issues with other camera brands. Pentax cameras haven't been that bad. The worst I heard of is the problems with bad copies of the DA*16-50. It has kept me from buying one. Pentax says that they have fixed this issue and new copies are good now. Hmmm... How do you tell new stock from old stock?

And the focus issue with the K10D? It is well known by Pentax. Why do you think that they added user settable focus calibration points for 20 different lenses in the K20D? Ha ha ha! It must have cost them a lot of time and money. I wonder why we haven't heard more about this issue.
