As I already had a F50 1.7 for my film cameras I bought a 35 2.4 when I got my K-r. I was using both but since I got my DA70 I do not use the 50 anywhere as much.

You are looking at choosing between two lenses but do you have a plan/roadmap of where you are going with future lens purchases? As you can tell from the comments above some people value the shallower depth of focus of the faster lens whereas others more on the versitily of the 35. Seeing as you already have a 50 I would suggest getting the 35 2.4. If you use it a lot and end up not using the 50 manual lens then aim to replace it with a AF lens. If you find that you do not use the 35 as much as you thought you would perhaps you are a zoom oriented photographer.
