Making sense of poor Dx0 marks?

While perusing I noticed that the DA* 55mm lens was rated very poorly for sharpness by DxO mark. I have this lens and it's the sharpest I have for my K30. Is this rating fairly accurate? It seems a lot of the Pentax lens are rated poorly; why is this?

My recommendation: go out, take some photos, and draw your conclusions based on that. These fancy numbers don't really mean anything without images to back them up

If you love the lens, and it's getting you sharp images (something the 55mm is more than capable of), then you have nothing to worry about.

Because DXO scores depend on sensors as well. Take the Nikon/Canon lens and set the camera as the D7100 or whatever Canon equivalent and then the scores line up waaaaay closer.

I've always got hits and misses with the DXO results vs the lenses I own. Their testing process is thorough and professional but I don't think they test a large enough number of each lenses to use their results as gospel.

I'm with Adam, who cares about the numbers if you get good results If you however get a highly rated lens and cannot get good results, it'll be another story.
