Tamron Adaptall... Bad lens or bad adapter

Just got my tamron sp macro adaptall 2 lens and its not registering the aperture on the k20. It's a PK adapter. I tried it on the k100d and k10d all in full manual modes but no go ...

Did i get a bad lens?? or is that impossible and its a bad adapter?

Hey Okami, The pk adapter will read f--- instead of aperture the pka adapter will allow auto mode. The aperture ring is used with pk adapter and set the green button for tv shift to find shutter speed. you may find some adjustment to the exposure is needed at smaller than f4. Remember to set allow aperture ring in menu. Hope this helps- if not you can just send it to me for a lengthy test

it is the k10 that may need exposure tweaking k100 should be fine

The green button closes down the iris of the lens to take an exposure reading so it will make a noise. Glad you got it, the first time I put a manual lens on my k100ds I thought my camera was broken because I forgot to set the aperture ring in the menu

What model lens is it? Many of the Tamron lenses require the snap-in type caps (the kind that snap into the filter threads as opposed to the type that slip on the front of the lens).
