Need help with FA50 1.4

I got my k200d a week ago and just received my FA50 1.4 this morning. The first thing I got impressed was its size... very small!!! Then I decided to mount it on but for some reason, I can't take any photo with it... It says "F--" on my metering... what is it??? I've read the instruction but still don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried both manual focus and auto focus but I still can't take any pictures. Some one please help me out!!
