The Three Amigos

My new "used" FA 43 arrived today.... it's beautiful and absolutely flawless. My collection is now complete!
Honestly, I had high expectations about the 31 and the 77 but wasn't sure that I really wanted the 43....but being a Pentaxian with LBA, I just had to complete the collection...
I will take it out tomorrow for some test shots.

Congrats! I was in your same boat and held out on the 43 for a year after acquiring and loving the other two amigos. Got my new 'used' 43 in April and have been absolutely floored at how nice it is. Enjoy!

Actually, in the original Japanese, and through the far east, they are named and are famous under "The Three Princesses".
It's good to know.

(I believe Ned Bunnell first called them The Three Amigos for some odd reason; maybe he likes Western films)

Funny...my new 43mm arrives tomorrow to complete the set. I too, waited...thinking the 31mm & 77mm were the only ones needed with aps-c. Somehow now in my mind I have convinced myself that the 43mm is going to be exactly what I have been missing, when paired up with my 21mm as the best small kit ever.

We wait and see.

Congrats to all who are getting a 43mm in the next few days.

Interesting.... The 43 is the one I don't have and don't feel a huge desire to get, much like others here. Yet I hear it is very popular. Maybe one day I might actually have some spare dollars and I'll pick it up and try for myself.

After a 12-year break, I went digital(32 years with an LX). Read about all three(got 'em). Read about the MIJ's(got 'em). Read about the early versions(have two, need one more).

Just picked up the FA 85 and want the rare 135 1.8 that I'd probably never use as I don't use the 135 2.5 I have now.

You could be a really bad influence!

I've gone out of my way to buy an early FA43 (2000 serial number range).... my 31 and 77 are AIV. I did this as I was interested in if the glass was different in some way......as opposed to where it is assembled.

I've never read anything to suggest that when assembly moved to Vietnam the source componenets changed. But I have read some stuff that suggests that the early ones MIJ had different glass or coatings (43 at least as it was the first)

Do you have any knowledge or observations based on you experience?
