The Sigma bear shots appear to be more exposed compared to the Pentax series of shots. The black sweater and the bear's face are both noticeably brighter, so the colors are also a bit washed out compared to the Pentax shots.
Of course, we can always say "if I made this adjustment, and if I made that adjustment ... and this isn't really a fair comparison unless we do so." And all of this may be correct.

But there's something to be said for "this is just how it comes out, without adjustments." Whoever's 'at fault' (even if it's the photographer) is often not as important as what can be produced "automatically" consistently.

Naturally the Sigmas are good, so the adjustments should simply be made.

I'm not sure what you're saying. Are you saying that the Sigma 70-200mm will consistently produce brighter-exposed images than the Pentax lenses tested?

Possibly, I'm not sure. Do you think it would? My Sigma superwide II 24mm (I had 2) seemed to do that. Perhaps some others as well.

I don't know if that specific lens would, but I have done back-to-back comparisons on different lenses I've owned in controlled conditions, and I have noticed slight differences in exposure levels at identical settings. So it's possible. I think that's why cinema lenses refer to T-stops instead of F-stops. The way I understand it, T-stops refer to the actual light gathering ability, taking into account light lost due to the lens design.

But in this case, the pictures were not shot using controlled conditions. They were shot at different times using available daylight as the main lighting source. So it's hard to say.
